What inspired you to start your business?

Chattanooga Sports Chiropractic Institute was opened on March 19th, 2018 by Dr. Callie Lance. She loves helping her patients become and stay active to do what they love the most. Dr. Callie is from Medina, Ohio, and received her Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Cincinnati. She then went to St. Louis, MO to obtain a Masters of Sports Science and Rehabilitation degree as well as her Doctorate of Chiropractic. She chose Chattanooga, TN from rowing in college and competing at the Head of the Hooch. Chattanooga took Dr. Callie’s heart with all of the outdoor activities it offers.  

The practice focuses on integrating chiropractic, dry needling, soft tissue techniques, and functional rehabilitation into one successful treatment approach individualized to each patient. Dr. Lance works with surrounding gyms, wellness centers, and other physicians to make sure that the community of Chattanooga receives the best care possible. ​

Previous experience consists of Dr. Lance’s abundant clinical experience serving in the Logan College of Chiropractic Health Center, Logan's Human Performance Center, Harris-Stowe University, University of Missouri, and Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. She was a preceptor at Mount Lookout Chiropractic & Sports Injury Center in Cincinnati, OH. 

When Dr. Lance first started the clinic, she faced many of the same concerns as any new business owner.  One was finding patience for things to unfold. Building a brand, gaining a community’s confidence, and building a business all take time. She knew this going into it but it’s a whole different mindset when you are actually doing it. Patience, rather than rushing through tasks has been the biggest challenge and eye-opener for her.

One of her start-up solutions was to seek out help from SCORE for all the little details of how to officially start a business. “We discussed the different entities, and what would fit my business, as well as all of the different paperwork and registration that I had to do. They were extremely helpful, especially since I was brand new to the city! They got me connected initially and helped get the business officially started. They are a great resource for small business owners or for individuals looking to start their own business.”
