How Did Your Business Get Started?

After serving in the navy, where she was injured in a vehicle accident while reporting to a duty station, she acquired a BS degree in Business Administration from Bryan College. She then started Fros N Mane Beauty Supply as an ethnic hair shop in November 2017. Gaining experience from stylists and other customers shopping in the store, she saw the need to expand inventory to be inclusive of all ethnicities.

She was able to expand her business with the help of TVFCU’s (Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union) Idea Leap loan program. SCORE Counselors, acting as the technical assistance provider, helped Mavis perfect her business plan and financial projections to be included in her loan application package.

Fros N Mane is a retail beauty supply store. The business provides products to make every woman feel her best. Giving them a variety of options from wigs, crochet hair, braid hair, sew-in hair, cosmetics, and hair care products. They have a stylist on staff, helping to make sure the customers have a licensed professional on-site to assist with hair installation and lash or makeup application. They believe every woman is naturally beautiful and want to help her accessorize that natural beauty with their products.
